NEWSLETTERS 2018

Dear parents, carers, staff, governors and friends,

As we head into the final week of the Autumn Term, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all the best during our festive break. I have had the absolute pleasure over the last week or so to see a number of amazing performances. From the angelic choirs, to the sinister characters in A Christmas Carol; the rhythmic samba drums and not to mention the coolest donkey around. The acting, singing and performing has been superb and something we, as the Brindishe Federation, are very proud of. It’s at times like this when we remind ourselves of how amazing our children and staff are. A huge well done to you all.

I hope you all have a lovely time over the Christmas period and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 7th January, ready to embrace the Spring term.

Kind regards,
Rachel Waite

Dear families, staff, governors and friends

How lovely to  see everyone in their Christmas jumpers today!  A very ‘jolly’ sight!

It’s been another week of  great performances at Brindishe Lee, this time in KS2!

What a treat to see every member of years 3, 4, 5 and 6 tell the  story of ‘A Christmas Carol’ and sing together, sharing the message of good will and caring at this time of year.

Thank you for your many lovely responses to both performances… “The best one ever!” so we were told! Another thank you to you ALL for your generosity in giving your change to the collection boxes at the end. The total amount collected is just under £600. This is absolutely wonderful! We shall be sending the donation to CRISIS and share some kindness with the homeless in London. Thank you all so very much.

“Boarders” Gaming Club 2019

A message from Mrs Wagland… We’re bringing back the wonder of board games to Brindishe Lee School!

As it’s that time of year where you may be looking to make some extra space in your cupboards, we’re asking for donations for any board games that may be collecting dust at home.

Research on brain development has prominently pointed to the importance of executive function, which is the brain’s ability to problem solve, be creative, utilize working memory and take prior knowledge and adapt it to new situations. Playing board games is just one way to tap into this mindset, as they are fun, engaging and have properties that help boost children’s brain power too.

Free-Play

This allows for imagination, creativity, and problem.

Follow the Rules

Board games represent a low-risk entry point to reinforce the importance of following the rules. These classics are rule-based by nature and require specific actions to achieve a set goal.

Be Adaptable

Board games are subject to chance and the actions of the other players, making it paramount for players to think on their feet.

Engaged children must learn the rules, develop a strategy, prioritize resources, adapt to changes in situations, negotiate and collaborate, maximize opportunity and minimize risk, and achieve the goal faster than competitors.

All donations will be greatly received.

Please see Mrs Wagland for further details.
