Open Days

Under normal circumstances, this page on our website would contain a list of dates for you to come and visit our school, to bring to life the information we have on our website, have an opportunity to see the fantastic learning that takes place and explore the range of opportunities available for your child. We are unable to offer these visits at present so we are holding a Zoom presentation to talk to you about Brindishe Green and what Nursery and Reception is like for your child.

Future meetings for 2022 to be confirmed

The  meeting will be for information only, although we will have the chat function open for general questions. If you have any specific questions following the virtual tour, an email address will be provided and someone will get in touch.

If you are interested in joining the meeting please send your name and contact details in an email to: info@brindishegreen.lewisham.sch.uk

The zoom link will be sent to your email address in advance of the meeting.

As an alternative, below you will find a range of different options to explore our school including a virtual tour, an information powerpoint and a range of pictures.

We really do miss having the opportunity to show you around, so if you require any further information, please do contact the school office.

Thank you in advance for your support during this time.

Please do pass this information on to anyone who you know is interested in their child joining the Brindishe Schools

Nursery

Starting Nursery

Children born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019 can start Nursery in September 2022. We have Nursery provision at both Brindishe Green and Brindishe Manor. There is no Nursery provision at Brindishe Lee.

At Brindishe Green, we offer 15 funded hours per week, 6 sessions per week. Morning places are 8.45am – 11.30am. Afternoon places are from 12.45pm – 3.00pm. We will try to meet your preference for a morning or afternoon place but cannot guarantee it.

At Brindishe Manor, places at our Nursery are for either 30 or 15 funded hours per week, 6 or 3 hours per day respectively, Monday to Friday. Morning places are from 9.00am to 12.00noon. Full-time places are from 9.00am to 3.00pm. We will try to meet your preference for a morning or 30 hour  place but cannot guarantee it.

Generally, you are eligible for 15 hours, but you may be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare.

Please click here to check the eligibility criteria.

Applications can be made at any time after your child’s 2nd birthday. Please click here  for an application form or alternatively they can be obtained from emailing the school office.

Nursery places are allocated to children within the nursery age range (i.e. between 3 years and the start of the academic year in which they will be 5). We do not allocate places to children whose parents have delayed admission to reception class.

In line with Lewisham’s Admission Criteria, where there is over-subscription, priority is given to:

  1. Children in public care (i.e. looked after by the local authority)
  2. Children with an acute medical or social need (the application must be supported by a letter from a professional such as doctor or a social worker)
  3. Applicants whose sibling is on roll at the main school (either Brindishe Green or Brindishe Manor) on the closing date for applications and will still be on roll at Brindishe Green or Brindishe Manor Primary School at the intended date of admission.
  4. If any places remain, unfilled priority will be offered to children who live closest to the school. Distance will be measured in a straight line using digitised mapping software.

Offers are made approximately 4 months before the September that a child would be due to start.

Unsuccessful applicants do not have the right of appeal but the child’s name can be placed on a waiting list.

Please note that a place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the Reception Class at any of the Brindishe Schools. You must apply separately at the appropriate time online to the Local Authority.

SEND

Children with SEND

Most children and young people with special educational needs can get the support they need in mainstream schools. However, some children need extra support through an education, health and care plan (EHCP).

There is a separate application process for children with an EHCP.
